Huate Group has unveiled two flagship magnetic separation equipments: the LHGC-8000 Max Intelligent Vertical Ring High Gradient Magnetic Separator and the CGC-1000 Ultra Plus Intelligent Cryogenic Superconducting High Gradient Magnetic Separator. Officially announced on October 24, 2026, the two machines represent Huate’s latest efforts to address the challenges of large-scale mineral processing, low-grade ore utilization, energy efficiency, and high-purity mineral purification.
The launch was attended by academicians, technical experts, and representatives from mining enterprises. According to Huate’s announcement, the two machines are designed for different but complementary processing needs: high-capacity separation of fine, weakly magnetic minerals and advanced impurity removal for high-purity mineral applications.
Advancing High-Capacity and High-Purity Mineral Processing
As easily beneficiated high-grade mineral resources become more challenging to secure, mining and mineral processing operations increasingly need to handle low-grade ores, fine particles, and weakly magnetic minerals. At the same time, industries such as photovoltaics, semiconductors, and power batteries require increasingly demanding mineral raw-material purity.
These challenges place greater emphasis on equipment capacity, separation performance, energy consumption, plant layout, and operational reliability.
Huate developed the LHGC-8000 Max and CGC-1000 Ultra Plus to address these needs through two different technological approaches: an ultra-large vertical ring high-gradient magnetic separator and a cryogenic superconducting magnetic separator featuring helium zero solid-conduction cooling.
LHGC-8000 Max: Large-Scale High Gradient Magnetic Separation
The LHGC-8000 Max Intelligent Vertical Ring High Gradient Magnetic Separator is designed to increase single-machine processing capacity while helping simplify mineral processing flowsheets.
The machine can process up to 2,000 tonnes per hour of low-grade hematite. The company reports a maximum background magnetic flux density of 1.8 tesla and power consumption of approximately 0.1–0.2 kWh per tonne of ore. Temperature rise is controlled within 25°C, according to the product announcement.
These specifications are intended to support high-throughput mineral processing while addressing energy consumption and equipment integration challenges.
Key Features of LHGC-8000 Max
• High processing capacity: A reported throughput of up to 2,000 tonnes per hour for low-grade hematite.
• High magnetic field strength: Maximum background magnetic flux density of 1.8 T.
• Energy-conscious operation: Reported electricity consumption of 0.1–0.2 kWh per tonne of ore.
• Modular equipment design: Split and modular construction helps address transportation and installation challenges associated with large equipment.
• Intelligent monitoring: A self-developed intelligent control platform supports process monitoring and remote maintenance, with unattended operation as an intended capability.
The machine is designed for the separation of fine, weakly magnetic minerals, including hematite, ilmenite, lithium-bearing ores, nickel ores, tungsten ores, cobalt ores, and rare-earth minerals. It can also be used for impurity removal from non-metallic minerals such as quartz and feldspar.
By increasing single-machine capacity and reducing the need to deploy multiple smaller units, the LHGC-8000 Max is intended to help reduce equipment count, plant footprint, and process complexity. Actual benefits depend on ore characteristics, plant configuration, and operating conditions.
CGC-1000 Ultra Plus: Helium Zero Cryogenic Superconducting Magnetic Separation
The CGC-1000 Ultra Plus Intelligent Cryogenic Superconducting High Gradient Magnetic Separator focuses on the separation of extremely weakly magnetic impurities from fine mineral particles, particularly in applications requiring high product purity.
A key feature is its helium zero solid-conduction cooling technology. This approach eliminates the need for routine liquid-helium procurement, storage, and replenishment associated with conventional liquid-helium-dependent cooling arrangements.
The machine also features a redesigned separation chamber. Its separation scale is more than ten times that of the previous CGC-300 model, with fewer machines required at equivalent processing capacity.
Key Features of CGC-1000 Ultra Plus
• 5 T background magnetic field: Designed to capture extremely weakly magnetic impurities.
• Helium zero cooling approach: Uses solid-conduction cooling instead of relying on liquid-helium replenishment.
• Large separation chamber: Chamber diameter of 1 metre.
• Low excitation power: Excitation power of 3 kW.
• Alternating dual separation chambers: Supports continuous operation through alternating chamber cycles.
• Cryogenic operating environment: Operates at a reported temperature of −268.8°C.
The CGC-1000 Ultra Plus is intended for deep purification of fine, weakly magnetic minerals, including rare-earth minerals, kaolin, high-purity quartz, lepidolite, and wollastonite.
A processing capacity exceeding 40 tonnes per hour for kaolin. Its design is intended to support high-purity processing and long-term operation in remote mining locations while reducing the operational burden associated with liquid-helium supply.
The equipment is particularly relevant to mineral processing applications serving the rare-earth, photovoltaic, semiconductor, and power-battery supply chains. Actual separation performance and product purity should be confirmed through ore testing and process evaluation.
Two Technologies for Different Mineral Processing Challenges
Although both machines use high-gradient magnetic separation principles, they address different operating priorities.
The LHGC-8000 Max focuses on high-volume processing, including low-grade hematite beneficiation and the treatment of fine, weakly magnetic minerals. Its capacity, magnetic field strength, energy consumption, and modular configuration are relevant to operations seeking to improve throughput and simplify plant layouts.
The CGC-1000 Ultra Plus focuses on high-purity applications where removing extremely weakly magnetic impurities from fine particles is essential. Its superconducting magnetic system and helium-free solid-conduction cooling approach are designed for applications such as kaolin and high-purity quartz purification.
Selecting the appropriate equipment requires consideration of feed mineralogy, particle-size distribution, magnetic susceptibility, target impurity levels, required throughput, and plant operating conditions.
Supporting Green and Intelligent Mineral Processing
Huate states that the development of these two machines involved simulation, structural engineering, process optimization, and industrial field testing over several years.
And the LHGC-8000 Max has been included in China’s 15th Five-Year Plan deep-Earth science and technology major special program and Shandong Province’s major science and technology innovation project.
The launch builds on Huate’s continued development of large-scale magnetic separation equipment, following the company’s announcement of a 5-metre intelligent vertical ring machine in 2022.
Together, the two new machines demonstrate Huate’s approach to addressing mineral-processing challenges through equipment scale-up, high-gradient magnetic field technology, intelligent control, and advanced cooling design.
Explore Magnetic Separation Solutions for Your Minerals
Choosing a magnetic separator requires more than comparing equipment specifications. Ore composition, liberation size, magnetic properties, impurity characteristics, target product quality, and required capacity all influence the final process design.
